My BTT1O1 Experience

16/05/2012 14:01

Microsoft office is a very popular program that many people have on their personal computers, but of all the people who have this program, very few know how to use all of the features thoroughly. The BTT1O1 course educates students on how to use the four of the six differnt programs, provided in the microsoft office bundle. The programs we learned about are Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Publisher. Each unit also will relate the program in use to an aspect of the business field, depending on the program. Even if business is not your forté, there is lots to learn and enjoy about this course, and it offers more than it seems.

Ask about things we learned.

Corporate Challenges

About once every three weeks, my class would complete a Corporate Challenge. These are small tasks that we had to do competing against each other, in order to climb the Corperate ladder. In our case, the corporate ladder was a paper ladder hung in the classroom, and each step of the ladder represents a position in an office building (example: first step represents a mail room position and last represents the CEO). As an individual completes tasks with winning times or scores, a paper character representing that person will climb the ladder, one step with each success. Our first corporate challenge was to find out what time it would be in 11 other countries if it was 1:00pm in Canada. This was to organize an imaginary phone conference with these countries at a convenient time for all of the countries involved.
