Desktop Publishing

The second most recent unit that I have done in the BTT1O1 course this semester was working with the program microsoft publisher. Publisher is a program that's main purpose is to help people organize advertisements easily. It often requires other programs such as paint, or photoshop to help design images before they are brought into publisher where they are organized. This unit helps to better understand the process of advertising and what creates a successful, visually appealing, professional-looking advertisement. This unit was made up of one small introduction to familiarize the students with the program and then a project which filled the rest of the unit. In the project we were required to advertise for a made-up restaurant, creating a logo, a menu, an advertisement, a place mat, a coupon, and a flyer. The interesting thing this about this project in particular was that it was made into a competition, between the best projects among the class, and then the best of the class would compete for the best in the school  board. Since you will not get to see my project, I will have you know that it was about a taco shop I made up called Salty Dog. I was quite proud of my menu but I didn't like the rest of my project.

This was the introduction to this unit that we did. The assignment was that we had to try to recreate an advertisement we were given, using microsoft publisher.
